MENDHAR, Feb 2: Four persons were injured in a group clash in Mankote area of Mendhar sub division in district Poonch today.
Police sources said that some village common land had been encroached upon by one Khadam Hussain ( NC block president) in Mankote area. The villagers had strong resentment over it. One of the villagers, Lal Hussain filed a complaint before Tehsildar Mendhar, who constituted Commission led by Naib Tehsildar Chhatral for demarcation of the area. The villagers alleged that Gha Charai land was grabbed by the local NC leader.
Today when the team led by Naib Tehsildar, Girdawar and Patwaris reached the village, the family members of Khadam Hussain including his son, a Govt teacher Tahir Iqbal attacked the team and snatched the measuring tape. Lal Hussain was stabbed by the son of Khadam Hussain, inflicting serious injuries. While the Revenue team members escaped from the spot, four persons were injured during clash. The injured Lal Hussain, Khadam Hussain, Shabnam Kouser and Rehmat Bi were admitted to Mendhar hospital. The police has registered a case FIR No. 15, 2017 against local NC leader and his son in this connection.
