3 drug peddlers arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Dec 6: Kulian police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 46 grams heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Kulian Police Post signaled a car bearing registration number JK02P-7980 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the car after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 46 grams of heroin from the possession of three persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Amarnath of Maralian, Rattan Lal alias Piddu, son of Tunda Ram of Agra Chak and Rajesh Gupta, son of Yashpal Gupta of Ward Number-1, RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 169/17 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by Incharge Kulian Police Post ASI Yougal Sharma made the arrest under supervision of SHO Miran Sahib Inspector Ajit Singh, SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
