200 kg lahan destroyed, one arrested in Excise raids

JAMMU, Sept 11: Excise Department today conducted raids in Bishnah and RS Pura villages during which it destroyed about 200 kg lahan and arrested a bootlegger with four bottles of illicit liquor.
The raids were conducted at villages Kotli Mian Fateh, Kotli Charkan, Deoli, Makhanpur, Salehar, Dablehar, Tarachak, Kothey Bulandae, Lalyana, Phinder, Khour, Joian, Sheikhupura and Shibuchak in Bishnah and RS Pura exchanges, by Excise team led by ETO South Range, Rohit Sharma along with Inspectors, Rajesh Chander, Sanjeev Gupta and Sub Inspectors, Manjeet Singh, Vikas Khajuria and Balwan Singh under the supervision of Syed Muried Hussain Shah, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu.
During the course of raids, a woman namely Beena Devi wife of late Bachan Lal was arrested under Excise Act and four bottles of illicit liquor made from lahan were recovered from her while the raiding team also recovered 200 kg of lahan from the state land and destroyed it on the spot.
