LEH, Feb 8: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Leh, Prasanna Ramasawami G suspended 14 officials, who were found absent from their duties during the surprise checking of different departments.
Following several complaints of unauthorized absence of Government servants from their offices, a checking squad under the direction of DC, Leh, conducted a surprise checking of various offices and as per the report submitted by the checking squad officers, large number of officials were allegedly unauthorizedly absent from their duties and further 65 officials were on unauthorized leave/ official duty.
DC Leh ordered an enquiry against the suspended officials for which Dr Zahida Bano, Chief Executive Officer, LDA, Leh and Tsering Angchuk, Chief Planning Officer Leh were appointed as enquiry officers.
Dr Zahida will conduct enquiry into the conduct of the officials belonging to ARTO, Leh, Medical/Health Department DSE, Xen R&B Leh, Construction Division Leh, PHE Division Leh, whileas CPO, Leh T Angchuk will conduct enquiry of officials belonging to DTO Leh, Fund Office Leh, DS&EO Leh, Soil Conservation Office Leh, Horticulture, ICDS, Leh CAPD and I&FC, Leh.
The enquiry officers will give the suspended officials a fair chance of being heard and list out the charges leveled against them after deciding the same. The enquiry will be completed and report will be submitted with specific recommendations to DC Office Leh within 15 days.
In the meanwhile, the suspended officials will remain attached with the offices of their respective enquiry officers who will maintain the daily register of their attendance till the enquiry will be complete.
The release of the salary of the suspended officials for the duration of the suspension will be contingent upon the production of their attendance certificate by the respective enquiry officers.
