JAMMU, Feb 2: Additional general secretary of the National Conference, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal today emphasized crucial role of youth in the fast changing political scenario in Jammu and Kashmir, saying a duty has cast upon all to fight the elements who were creating wedge between various segments of society for furthering their political agenda.
“National Conference has always carved out a big role for youth to shape destiny of the State”, Mr Kamaal said while welcoming several prominent social activists on their joining Youth National Conference.
He said that the State is passing through difficult times with self seekers and anti-people elements taking centre-stage and therefore a duty has cast upon all to change the discourse under the banner of National Conference and help in steering Jammu and Kashmir to political stability. He said a strong and vibrant National Conference is answer to all the problems confronted to the State.
Provincial Youth NC president Ajaz Jan, in his address, referred to the current political stalemate forced by the PDP-BJP duo and said that after failing on all fronts during ten months’ misrule, the coalition was testing patience of people by enacting melodrama. He said the State has immensely suffered due to vision-less policies and performance inertia of the North pole South pole combine.
He urged youth workers to intensify mass contact drive and make people aware about anti-policies pursued by the anti-people Government which resulted into accumulation of their problems.
Prominent among those, present on the occasion, included senior leader and former minister Abdul Gani Malik, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Qazi Jalal Ud din, Ch Haroon, Ankush Abrol, Rohit Bali, Farooq Devsar, Rohit Kerni, M L Munshi, Sunil Turkey and others.
