RAJOURI, Apr 17: The family members and relatives of a young driver held strong protest demonstration at Jawahar Nagar here this evening, after he died in a ‘mysterious’ road accident in Rajasthan.
The dead body of the deceased Mohd Farooq, son of Wazir Mohd, resident of Karad in Darhal and presently residing in Rajouri town reached here this evening. He was said to be killed in road accident four days back. The youth was driver with a private Bolero which had been hired by the RDD, Rajouri officials. He had gone to Ajmer Sharief with the family of DPO, Rajouri. In Rajasthan, he was said to be killed in accident with a Tralla and DPOs family members were injured.
Today, when the dead body of the driver reached, the family members and relatives along with dead body came put on the road to lodge protest against the RDD officials that how an officer was allowed to have pilgrimage along with family in officially attached vehicle to such a far off place in Rajasthan. They said deceased has received minor injuries while they projected it as serious accident. Moreover, there was no proper postmortem and police report sent with the dead body. They blocked road for about two hours keeping body there. Later ADC Mumtaz and DySP Hqs reached the spot. The ADC ordered re-conduct of postmortem by a Medical Board at Rajouri hospital. The people then lifted dharna.
