Promote tourism, resolve hurdles in PMGSY roads: Dorjay

REASI, Mar 15: The Reasi District Development Board (DDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs Chering Dorjay here today.
The meeting took important decision of shifting of land available with Sheep Husbandry Department near DC complex Reasi for the extension of existing court complex and other allied development activities and in lieu of which equal quantum of State land would be made available to the department.
Besides, the Board also discussed modalities for promoting adventurous tourism in the district, improvement of Bhim Garh fort, a footing religious tourism, intensifying tourism related activities along Shiv Khori, enroute Konsar Yatra in Mahore areas and transforming Dagan top as major tourist destination.
An out lay of Rs. 144.22 crore was approved in the meeting after holding a comprehensive discussion on all developmental aspects.  The plan includes Rs.10.52 crore under regular schemes, Rs. 21.10 crore as loan component, Rs. 101.56 crore under central share and Rs. 11.02 crore in State share for the development of district Reasi.
The Chairman passed instructions  to  the executing agencies and administration for conducting joint visits on proposed sites of PMGSY roads to gear up their pace of progress so that major amount involved with the schemes is utilized without any obstruction. He said the issues of forest clearance, structures, land requirement are required to be resolved amicably to avoid inordinate delay caused to the road projects.
For water connectivity, the Chairman laid stress on the officers for prioritizing extreme left out areas and proceed in hierarchy to cover all villages of the district. He also asked the officers to prepare DPRs for new model villages in the districts.
The Board decided immediate shifting of existing hospital in newly constructed Community Health Center at Mahore, start of classes in Polytechnic College in ensuing academic session, vigorous follow up to upgrade Katra-Bhambla road by the concerned department.
Minister of State for Finance & Planning Ajay Nanda, Vice Chairman for the development of OBCs Rashpal Verma, Vice Chairman Bushan Lal Dogra, Vice Chairman Prof Nirmal Gupta, Vice Chairman Daljeet Singh Chib,  MLA Gool-Arnas Aijaz Ahmed Khan, MLA Gulabgarh, Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, MLC Jugal Kishore, District Development Commissioner (DDC), Reasi Ravinder Kumar, SSP Reasi, HoDs and other senior officers of line departments were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda said that one road link should be proposed from Surjandhar to Sari. He said the road will link several remotest habitations of districts Reasi and Udhampur. He also raised the issue of separate PHE and Irrigation sub-division for Reasi.
The Chairmen of different boards highlighted the concerns of their field which include establishing of boys hostels, raising local mandis for farmers, KCC cards, labour cards, special relaxation for handicapped and visually impaired people from Adhaar cards owing to some concrete reasons etc.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) presented a detailed record of financial and physical achievements under various development schemes and components of capex budget.
