Srinagar, Oct 8: Army today said that ammunition recovered from the infiltrators killed in Nowgam sector of Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir two days ago were Pakistani make which is clear proof that they are equipping and sending militants into Kashmir.
Defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said here that ammunition recovered from the four infiltrators killed in Nowgam sector was Pakistan made which is clear proof of Pakistan arming and abetting militants.
“Four terrorists were eliminated by Army on the Line of Control while trying to infiltrate on Oct 6, 2016 in Nowgam sector. Pakistan Ordinance Factory markings on the hand grenades and the UBGL grenades recovered from the terrorists confirmed Pakistan complicity in abetting and equipping terrorism. The hand grenades recovered are ARGES 84 which are manufactured by Pakistan Ordnance Factories. Pakistan origin markings are also seen on the medicines and eatable items recovered”, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said that these militants were carrying highly inflammable material aiming at causing maximum destruction. “A large number of highly inflammable material, like six plastic explosive slabs, six bottles of petroleum jelly, six bottles of inflammable liquid and six lighters were also recovered. Similar inflammable material was recovered at Poonch Incident of September 11 and Uri incident of September 18. This showed the sinister design of Pakistan to aid terrorists in causing maximum destruction”.
The spokesman said that the other items recovered from the militants are four AK 47 rifles, 16 AK-47 magazines, 349 ammunition rounds, one radio set, one GPS, one binocular, two wire cutters, one Samsung mobile, four Rain Ponchos and Haversack, one First Aid kit and clothing and eatable items.
In the meantime, army today continued massive searches in Nowgam sector of Kupwara after they foiled two infiltration attempts on Thursday and killed four militants. Sources said that 6 militants made an infiltration attempt at one place in the sector and two of them fled back to Pakistan and four were shot dead.
