New colony at Gole Gujral named after Sudhama

JAMMU, Aug 20: A meeting of the residents of a Private Colony coming up near Yogashram-S.O.S School in Village Nandni  (Gole Gujral -Talab Tilloo) area was held  to discuss various problems faced by the  people of the area. It was decided to give a name to the colony and constitute a welfare committee for the same.
It was decided to name the up-coming colony as Sudhama Colony and approach concerned departments and officials for approval of the same.
Other issues which came up for discussion included include supply of electric power on regular uninterrupted basis for which some members have already done a good amount of work,  ensure installation of two additional 100 KW electric transformers at an early date at suitable place to meet the deficiency for which approval has already been obtained from the PDD and the case was with the IRCON,  approach various departments / agencies  like  JMC / JDA/ PWD/ PHE /BSNL / irrigation and FC etc. in connection with various pressing problems faced by the residents like drainage, regular water supply, plugging  leaking water  pipes, macadamization of roads, drainage  street lights etc.
An ad-hoc committee of the following has been constituted to function  till a formal Welfare Committee is duly elected  as per its Constitution in a general body meeting of all the residents.
While Prof. Gopi Kishen Muju was nominated as the Chairman,  Raman Kumar Sharma was nominated as  general secretary, Engineer Purshottam Kumar Sharma treasurer  and Dr Kamal Kishore as a member of  the (Ad Hoc) Welfare Committee.
