JAMMU, Mar 26: On the eve of World Theatre Day-2016, Natrang Director Balwant Thakur opened the mega celebrations with thoughtful discourses and presented an intense talk describing the power of ultimate magic of theatre.
Terming Theatre as the only tool of shaping civilized societies, he stressed on the need of introducing this magnificent art in all the educational institutions. In the developed world, theatre has acquired position and is considered as one of the most sought-after activity of community participation and intellectual development. Be it personality development, shaping minds, enhancing oratory skills, infusing confidence theatre is the only art which magically empowers any individual with all such immense abilities. Interestingly it helps both the spectator and the participant equally.
For children Drama is one of the arts through the practice of which children may grow and mature as superior human beings. Through the creative aspect of dramatic work children may bring to birth that which is original (to them) from material which is old; through its interpretative aspect they may grow in sympathetic understanding of the world and of people by contact with good and suitable plays. Both aspects involve the whole person, body, mind, emotions, spirit; both are ultimately one; both may be vital to the development of children.
