Myanmar national arrested for trafficking 20 girls to India

JAMMU, June 1: Bahu Fort police have busted girls trafficking racket with the arrest of a Myanmar national.
As per police sources, a team from Bahu Fort police station arrested a Myanmar national identified as Noor-ul-Islam son of Nazir Ahmad R/o Myanmar, presently putting up at Palesar Mohalla, Narwal, following a complaint of kidnapping a girl from West Bengal and arranging her forceful marriage with a man in Narwal area here.
During investigation the arrested man spilled the beans and disclosed that he used to lure girls in West Bengal and allegedly sell them in Jammu. One of the victims, who was forcefully married to a person, has also been recovered by the police.
Noor, 65, was working as labourer but was actually engaged in the business of girls trafficking. He had moved to India in 2008 and had served sentence of 44 months in jail at Balugarh in West Bengal from mid 2013 to January 2017 for illegal crossing of the border.
He had so far immorally trafficked 20 females from Bangladesh-India border charging Rs 7000 each. He had recently trafficked infant girl Janat-ul-Balli from Myanmar and tied her nuptial know with Mohibullah.
A case in this regard has been registered at Bahu Fort police station under Sections 366-B, 342, 346 RPC and 2/4 Infant Marriage Act for further investigations. The accused has been lodged in Narwal police post.
Police team led by SDPO East Arun Jamwal and assisted by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Bharat Sharma made the arrests under the supervision of SP City South Sandeep Choudhary.
