J&K fails to reply on free land for IIM

Strange but true. The State Government has not even replied to the Union Finance Ministry’s letter for allotment of free land for establishing prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM), which had been sanctioned for Jammu and Kashmir by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in last year’s budget.
In the report for ‘Status of Implementation’ of previous `Budget Announcements’, Jaitley today said the State Government of Jammu and Kashmir had been requested for allotment of free of cost land for establishing an IIM.
However, he added, the reply from the State Government was awaited.
It may be mentioned here that Jaitley had in his last year’s budget sanctioned an IIM for Jammu and Kashmir.
