JAMMU, Mar 17: Bagh-e-Bahu police arrested four persons for kidnapping and outraging the modesty of a deaf and dumb minor girl hailing in Ragoora area last month.
As per police sources, the patrolling party from Bagh-e-Bahu heard voice of a girl coming out from an alto car bearing registration number JK02AD-2205 parked in the Ragoora area on February 13.
When the police personnel tried to inquire, the occupants of the car escaped from the spot along with the vehicle.
Stinking something fishy, police team chased the vehicle and intercepted it near some distance, but by the time, the occupants of the car had fled from the spot.
A deaf and dumb girl hailing from Rajeev Nagar area was spotted in the vehicle by the police cops, who shifted her to hospital, where her medical examination was conducted, which confirmed that the girl was raped.
A case under FIR Number 26/16 under Section 363 and 376 RPC was registered at Bagh-e-Bahu police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, several youths were picked up by the police and out of them, four confessed to commit the crime. In the identification parade, the victim also identified the accused persons.
The rapists have been identified as Sabar Ali alias Mannu, son of Gul Mohammad and Hussain Mohammad alias Kalu, son of Shah Mohammad, both residents of Ragoora, Arshad Ali, son of Kaku Ali and Rizak Ali alias Pidu, son of Jamat Ali, both residents of Dawada.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bagh-e-Bahu police station Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary and PSI Deepak Thakur made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
