Er Ravi Chanyal takes over as new Chairman of Institution of Engineers

JAMMU, Oct 31: The 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Local Centre was held at Institutional Complex, Channi Himmat, Jammu today. It was presided over by Er. Ajay Gupta, FIE, Chairman of Jammu Local Centre. A large number of corporate members from all disciplines of Engineering attended the AGM.
Er. B. L. Rawal, honorary secretary, while welcoming the members, presented the annual report for the year 2016-2017 and highlighted the activities of the Jammu Local Centre.
Er. Ravi Chanyal, FIE took over as the new chairman and Er. Vijay Kumar Sharma, MIE as new honorary secretary for the session 2017 – 2018 and 2018 – 2019. Results of elections to the Committee of Jammu Local Centre for the Sessions 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 were announced by Er. Devinder Singh Pawar, FIE, convener & past chairman of IEI, Jammu Local Centre. The Committee for the session 2017-2019 will comprise of Er. Ravi Chanyal, FIE, chairman; Er. Vijay Kumar Sharma, MIE, honorary secretary; Er. Ajay Gupta, FIE, (past chairman);  Er. B. L. Rawal, MIE (past honorary secretary); Er. Mohinder Singh, MIE; Er. Vijay Kumar Arora, MIE; Er. Brij Bhushan Sharma, FIE; Er. Nitu Choudhary, AMIE; Er. Pooja Wazir, AMIE; Er. Kuldip Kumar Badyal, MIE; Er. C Paul Sharma, MIE; Er. Kuldip Raj Suri, FIE; Er. Supinder Jeet Singh Sodhi, AMIE; Er Sachin Tickoo, MIE;  Sanjay Khar, FIE; Er J S.  KapoorMIE  .
Er. Ravi Chanyal, FIE, the new Chairman of the Centre is a retired Chief Engineer from J&K Power Development Department. He hails from village Bhaddu of tehsil Billawar and has graduated from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh in the year 1978.
Er. Vijay Kumar Sharma, MIE, the new honorary secretary is presently working as Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical), Irrigation & Flood Control Deptt.  Jammu. He has graduated from the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata.
Er. B. L. Rawal, MIE, honorary secretary of the Centre conducted the proceedings and delivered the vote of thanks.
