JAMMU, July 6: A severely decomposed body, with no information about its gender, was recovered from the Canal here today.
Around 4 Pm, a body with illegible engravings on the left arm, was recovered from the canal opposite Palm Island area, a police official said.
According to him, the body was accordingly shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for identification purposes.
Meanwhile, police have requested police stations/police posts across the UT for sharing information about any person reported missing in the area.
Inquest proceedings have also been initiated to further probe into the matter.
