Chenab Valley Students Association formed

JAMMU, Mar 4: The general body meeting of Chenab Valley People’s Association (CVPA) was held at University of Jammu, here today, wherein Chenab Valley Students’ Association was formed with Ajay Singh Thakur, a Law student in JU, unanimously elected as the State president.
Gulshan Singh Manhas, a student of Sociology in JU was elected as State vice president while Sandeep Katoch was elected as State general secretary of CVSA.
In the general body meeting, CVPA also announced the State committee of CVSA.
The general body meeting was presided over by State vice president of CVPA & Incharge of CVSA, Advocate Joginder Thakur.
While addressing the students, Thakur said that the main agenda of CVSA  would  be the University  Campus in Chenab valley (Doda, Ramban or Kisthwar), Satellite campus in Ramban, B  Ed College in the region , Cultural heritage centre for the promotion of regional languages (Bhaderwahi, Bhallesvi and Padri, Kishtwari, Pogli, Siraji, Khashali, Paddri etc),  formation of Chenab Valley Hill Development Council on the pattern of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)  and  Pahari status for the people of Chenab valley.
Talking to the media, new State president of Chenab Valley Students’ Association, Ajay Singh Thakur drew attention towards some issues and demands, which included opening of new colleges and higher secondary schools, water, electricity and education to the remote areas of Chenab Valley and Chenab Valley hostel in Jammu.
Others present in the meeting included Anjeet Singh, Pardeep Singh Chib, Vishal Manhas, Ashutosh Singh, Imran, Zulfikar and Jitender Sambyal.
