For preparation for these exams there are many good books available in the market, however joining a coaching. Institute is always beneficial for following reasons.
* These institutes have the expertise to train the people for these exams.
* Joining a coaching institute gives a fair amount of idea of the competition.
* Joining a coaching institute gives regularity in the studies so you get a better chance to work on your weaknesses.
* Work on your weaknesses. But before joining any institute. However there are different strategies to be adopted for different subjects.
For Maths, brush up your basics mainly up to 10th class, regular practice and no fear about Mathematics is the key to success.
For English, work on the basic grammar. Reading newspaper is surely helpful in improving vocabulary and comprehending skills.
For Descriptive reading of editorials is definitely beneficial.
For reasoning, regular practice and basic concept of the topic is the key.
For computer knowledge and banking knowledge again basic knowledge is enough.
13. What is the Minimum Marks required to pass the exam.
Earlier out of 250 marks min of 120 marks (24 in each subject) was required but due to change in the trends of IBPS Max. Marks is 200, so it is expected a min of 100 marks [20 in each subject] be required to qualify. But to come in merit higher merit is required to make your chance sure, you should be able to have minimum accuracy of above 70%.
14. Negative Marking.
It is really necessary that to give answer of every question carefully as there is negative marking also. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks are cut down.
15. How the time be managed in exam.
In actual it is your race against time. If we see there are 200 questions and time is just 120 mins. i.e, on an average there is just 36 sec per question. So one has to be really fast, very fast!!. So it is s better we divide each section and allot time according to their requirement. For English, allot 20 mins. & 15 mins. each for G.K and computers and dedicate 30 mins each for Maths & reasoning and last five minutes must be for checking of answer keys, If it is properly filled or not. Some advice for the students who are going to give J&K Bank (RE) exam to be held on 4th Nov. 2012, across J&K. As there are three sections Reasoning (75 questions). Maths (50 questions) and English (50 questions) and total time is again 120 mins (2hrs) so time allotted should be 50 mins for reasoning, 35 mins for maths 30 mins for English and last 5 mins for revision.
