JAMMU, Apr 8: Hotel KC Residency announced the launch of a 10-day Food Festival titled ‘Coastal Flavours of India’ at its rooftop restaurant ‘The Terrace Skylounge’.
The buffet spread will feature authentic culinary delicacies prepared and presented by Chef Kaushal Sharma and his team of expert chefs. The food festival will offer a lip-smacking array of delicacies from the Coastal belt of India, which stretches from Maharashtra’s Malwani to Kerala’s Malabari, including Goan and Mangalorean culinary delights.
The spread will include dishes like Kerala Mutton Stew, Goan Chilly Lamb Fry, Chicken Cafreal, Alleppey fish curry, Prawn Gassi, Rasam, Vegetable Xacuti, Cabbage Foogath, and many more from Mumbai and Mangalorean fish curry would be there for the taking.
“Mention coastal cuisine, and it’s assumed that it would be seafood and coconut that would be talked about. The impression isn’t out of sync. Hard to believe but in first glance, the cuisine of coastal India – East and West – appears to be meat and seafood heavy, thanks to the natural abundance.
But then for every prawn gassi that the coast boasts of, there is a vegetable ishtew, and for every jeermari chi kombdi there is a Calicut Brinjal Curry and a Phanasa Chi Bhaji, thus making the cuisine one of the more complex yet fascinating cuisine of India.” said Rahul Jandial, General Manager Hotel K C Residency. “We have a diverse menu and want people to experience all the elements of a contemporary Indian meal”, he added.
