UDHAMPUR, June 7: Worthy DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Mohd Suleman Choudhary today conducted a crime review meeting here. The meeting was attended by Dr. Vinod Kumar, SSP Udhampur ; Additional SP Udhampur, Anwar Ul Haq; Gurmeet Singh, DySP HQ Udhampur; Tahir Amin Sheikh, SDPO Chenani; Darshan Singh, Sr. PO DPO Udhampur, Vishal Manhas, SDPO Ramnagar and SHOs of all Police Stations of District Udhampur.
In the meeting, Police Station wise review of investigations of criminal cases registered in the district and Inquests proceedings, crime against women, action against drug peddlers, bovine smugglers was discussed threadbare. Besides this, progress of Police Stations on tracing of missing persons, absconders, solving of theft, UA(P) Act cases registered , backlog cases and their disposal, conviction of all crime cases including cases related to terrorism, narcotics, burglary cases and execution of court process were also discussed during the crime review meeting.
The DIG directed the officers to do the given tasks within the stipulated time and speed up the disposals of crime cases and conviction rate. He directed the officers to closely supervise investigations of all sessions committed cases and ensure that the accused are punished. He appreciated SSP Udhampur and his team for recently destroyed 1500 kgs of narcotic drugs. He also congratulated the SSP Udhampur, his team, investigators and prosecutors of the cases for securing conviction of the accused in the recent past cases.
Choudhary directed for elaborate security arrangements to ensure secure and peaceful conduct of Amarnath yatra as was done last year.
The SSP Udhampur gave a detailed presentation on all the agenda points including the achievements of district Police Udhampur in recent past.
The SDPOs discussed various important issues of their sub-divisions including the progress achieved on ensuring maximum disposal of the cases.
The DIG lauded the efforts of District Police Udhampur on its war against drugs/ illegal liquor sale and recovery of large quantity of narcotics in the district.
