9 bovines rescued, one arrested

KATHUA, June 11: Rajbagh and Kathua Police rescued 9 bovine animals and arrested one person.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Rajbagh led by SHO Inspector Bhopinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal laid a naka at Manyari and intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK21F-4786.
During checking, police team rescued 5 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested one person, who was identified as Mohammad Altaf, son of Bashir Ahmed of Mansar District Samba.
Meanwhile a team from Police Station Kathua led by SHO Inspector Vijay Kumar under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Shammi Kumar and SSP Kathua RC Kotwal laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle.
During frisking, police team rescued 4 bovine animals while cattle smugglers managed to escape from the spot.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Rajbagh and Kathua and investigation started.
