BJP takes out Nasha Mukt rally

JAMMU, May 27: BJP Transport Cell in collaboration with the Sainik Colony Welfare Association took out a massive awareness rally under the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan”, in Sainik Colony, near here, today to spread awareness against the growing menace of drug abuse and to encourage collective societal efforts for a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir.
J&K BJP president & Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, accompanied by general secretary, Baldev Singh Billawaria and MLA Bahu Ch Vikram Randhawa led the rally.
BJP All Cell in charge, Ved Sharma, BJP district Jammu South president, Naresh Singh Jasrotia, BJP Transport Cell, convenor Ashu Gupta, Cell district convenor, Kamalpreet Singh, senior leaders Parduman Singh, Narinder Singh Bunty, Gurpreet Randhawa, Suman, Rakesh Sangral, Ajay Partap, Col. (retd) Gurbaksh Singh, members of the Sainik Colony Welfare Association including ex-servicemen, social activists, and large numbers of local residents joined the rally.
Sat Sharma, while addressing on the occasion, said that the Modi Government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and is working extensively to save the youth from the destructive trap of narcotics. He said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has repeatedly emphasized that the youth are the nation’s greatest strength and every effort must be made to channelize their energy towards nation-building.
Referring to Union Home Minister, Amit Shah’s resolve for a “Drug-Free India”, Sat Sharma said that the Modi Government is committed to eradicating the menace of narcotics in the same determined manner in which the country is moving towards freedom from Naxalism.
Sat Sharma appreciated the dedicated efforts of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha-led administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces, and civil administration for carrying out aggressive campaigns and successful operations against drug networks across Jammu and Kashmir.
Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the increasing awareness among people, especially parents and youth, is a positive sign in the fight against drugs. He asserted that BJP workers will continue organizing public outreach programmes and awareness campaigns to strengthen the mission of a drug-free society.
Vikram Randhawa said that drug abuse has emerged as a serious threat to society and every responsible citizen must contribute towards eliminating this evil.
