UDHAMPUR, May 27: In a tragic incident, a young girl drowned when she was leading her domestic animals at Tawi River near Toldi to let them drink water.
Identity of the drowned girl was established as Nita Devi (22), daughter of Bitta Singh, resident of Bant, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur.

Reports said that while leading the animals in Tawi, the girl suddenly slipped into deep water and drowned. Locals along with Police, SDRF and NDRF personnel launched a search operation and body of the deceased was fished out after around one hour.
Later the body was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for the post-mortem. Police have registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
