JAMMU, Mar 11: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) has urged the Government and various political parties to clear their stand on the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill and other issues being faced by the displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
Expressing their anguish and resentment over the role of political parties and some members of Legislative Assembly who blocked the passage of the Bill recently, YAIKS president, R K Bhat told reporters here, today that it was total betrayal and a deep conspiracy against the Kashmiri Pandits who were waiting for the passage of the Bill for last 10 years.
The YAIKS vice president Sunil Koul, general secretary, Manoj Handoo and other office bearers including Sunil Dhar, Sanjay Ganjoo, Deepak Koul, Ajay Ji and D N Bhat were present in the press conference.
Bhat said the role played by various political parties particularly BJP was against the expectations of the community whose sentiments have been hurt by the utterances of its leaders. No words will ever explain the extent of sufferings of KPs experienced over the years and in spite working for mitigating their sufferings this injustice has been done to the community, he added.
He said those political and social organizations which claim to secular and pro-nationalist have been exposed with their role on the Bill. The YAIKS condemns the role of BJP, he added.
He complimented the parties and leaders including Law Minister, PDP, CPM, PDF and Engineer Rashid for cooperating and supporting the Bill.
He said no doubt the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah fulfilled his commitment which he had made with YAIKS during January 5 convention by tabling the Bill, but unfortunately some political parties sabotaged it on the behest of some anti community elements.
He appealed the community to untie and despite being a microscopic minority show their strength in the ensuing elections.
He also demanded a CBI probe into the sale of religious properties in Valley.
He said we are inconstant touch with Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust who are working on passage of the bill to devise ways and means how to jointly intensify struggle.
