Villagers demand speedy investigation in suspicious death

RAMNAGAR, July 10: Demanding registration of murder case in mysterious death of a local at Delhi where he was working as a labourer, villagers of Rang in Ramnagar tehsil held a peaceful protest, here today.
They said that dead body of 26- year old Mohinder Kumar, son of Kallu Ram of Rang, was brought home last Sunday by two persons in private ambulance without completing any legal formalities. Claiming that it was an apparent case of murder as the dead body was in bad condition, they appealed the Government to immediately arrest the persons, who had brought the body.
The protest was led by senior BJP leader Adv Naresh Bhagat along with Sarpanch Rang, Shankuntla Devi and Naib Sarpanch Madan Lal, who appealed the Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT to personally and take up the matter with the authorities of Delhi Government for registration of case under relevant sections i.e 302 IPC and its speedy investigation. They also demanded ex-gratia relief and Government job to one member of the deceased’s family.
Later, SDPO Ramnagar Gharu Ram and SHO Ramnagar Jaswinder Singh personally reached the spot and held a meeting with the villagers , who were informed that postmortem of the body has been conducted on request of Delhi Police , which was already investigating the matter at Police Station Bhalswa, North Delhi.
Both SDPO and SHO assured the people that Ramnagar Police will help and coordinate with Delhi Police for early solving the case. Family members of the deceased youth were also present in the meeting with Police.
