JAMMU, Sept 28: The executive body of SMVD Sewa Committee Baridaran led by its president Rachhpal Singh held a meeting with the baridars of Sarhi village at Sarhi and constituted a village committee.
Some members were also elected for inclusion in the other wings of the Committee viz. ‘Working Committee’, ‘Advisory Wing’, ‘Yuva Morcha’ etc. The data pertaining to the family details of the village for facilitating their proper rehabilitation was also collected.
During the course of the proceedings of the meeting, the baridars of the said village were apprised about the activities of the committee carried out during its tenure of last more than three years. The other items of the agenda of the meeting viz. validity and importance of SMVD Sewa Committee Baridaran and the implication of the Writ Petition filed by an unauthorized splinter group of baridars designated as Sangarsh Committee in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir were also discussed.
The audience were also addressed by Kartar Singh, Ajay Singh and Gian Singh. Several queries raised by the members of the baridar community were answered by the members of the visiting team. The touring executive members included Kartar Singh, Ajay Singh, Gian Singh, Pritam Singh and Master Sujan Singh.
