Two drug peddlers booked under PSA

KISHTWAR/KATHUA, June 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police today booked two habitual drug peddlers under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in separate operations in Kishtwar and Kathua districts and lodged them in District Jail Udhampur.
A senior police officer in Kishtwar district said notorious drug supplier Imran Hussain Giri of Machgadi Pochhal has been booked under PSA for his repeated involvement in drug peddling related cases.
“Sustained investigation revealed Giri’s role in supplying drugs to the youth in the town. To curb his activities, a PSA warrant was executed and the criminal was accordingly shifted to the jail,” SSP Kishtwar, Naresh singh said.

Meanwhile, in Billawar area of the Kathua district, police booked a hardcore criminal and drug peddler, Arun Javed of Dadwara Village.
“Acting on multiple FIRs against Javed, the police team prepared a dossier which led to the issuance of PSA detention warrant by the District Magistrate Kathua. Accordingly, he was arrested and shifted to District Jail Udhampur,” another police official said.
The Kathua operation was led by Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, SHO Billawar, under the supervision of SDPO Billawar, Neeraj Padyar, and SSP Kathua, Shobhit Saxena.
