Thoracoscopy workshop, CME conducted at CD Hospital

JAMMU, Oct 20: Taking a step ahead in advancement of facilities at GMC Jammu, the Department of Chest Diseases conducted a workshop in Medical Thoracoscopy at CD Hospital Jammu in which needy patients were given the benefit of this minimally invasive diagnostic technique.
The workshop was conducted by visiting faculty from Delhi, Dr Rajiv Goyal, who  is renowned Pulmonologist and currently the Chief of the Discipline of Pulmonary Medicine at  Jaipur Golden Hospital, New Delhi, along with Dr Rahul Gupta, head of the Department of Chest Diseases.
Amongst others, who attended the workshop, included Dr Rajinder Singh, Ex Principal GMC Jammu, Ex Prof and Head Deptt of CTVS Dr Gurjit Singh and Dr Arvind Kohli. The Department of Anesthesia, headed by Dr Samriti Gulati provided the anesthesia backup. The workshop was conducted under the patronage of Principal GMC Dr Ghanshyam Dev.
Later in the evening,  Dr Rajiv Goyal delivered a lecture about Medical Thoracoscopy and its clinical implications in the CME which was attended by large number of faculty members and other doctors having interest in field of minimally invasive diagnostics like thoracoscopy
Dr Rahul Gupta, who organized this CME, said that this technique shall be made a regular feature in the department and a large number of patients shall get the benefit. He further said that the Department of Chest Diseases shall be conducting more academic workshops with leading visiting faculty from all over the country so as to give a boost to the available patient care to this subset of patients.
