Challenges like terrorism and left wing extremism persistently threaten to disrupt the development and progress of the country, Union Minister of state for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju said. Addressing at the colorful Passing Out Parade of 28th Batch Assistant Comdt/Direct Appointee, 8th Batch Assistant Comdt/Departmental entry, 40th Batch SubInspector/Executive and 1st Batch lady sub-inspector/Executive of SVPNPA held at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) here today, Mr Rijiju said, “the challenges that the country is facing are complex and manifold and in view of this, the services of CISF are becoming more and more important to the nation.” “CISF is doing a commendable job in protecting the most vulnerable and critical assets of the country,” he said, adding that with the changing security scenario in the country, the responsibility assigned to CISF has increased manifold.
The Academy has lived up to its mission to produce professionals in the fields of industrial security, Aviation security and Disaster Management to command the force with dedication and valour to meet the organisational needs, he said.
Mr Rijiju said, “CISF is deployed in many terrorist and naxal-affected areas of the country and the Force personnel are providing effective security to the undertakings located in these areas.”
Some inimical forces always tend to create an environment of insecurity and uncertainty, he said and expressed hope that the training imparted at the academy will stand in good stead to face any such challenges in future. By providing security and protection to industries, CISF, in fact, acts as a catalyst for economic growth of the country, he said and added that the CISF has shouldered all these responsibilities with utmost effectiveness. Besides providing security at all major industrial undertakings and airports, CISF, which is a multi-skilled para military force of the country, is often deployed for internal security duties and election duties and in view of escalating threats to security, the government has been reposing its trust and faith on CISF to contribute to the peace, growth and prosperity of the nation, he added.
