DODA, July 16: Police arrested a jawan of Territorial Army (TA) and recovered 3 rifles from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Bhalla police post laid a naka and intercepted a Wagon-R car bearing registration number JK19-2667, which was on its way to Doda from Bhaderwah.
During checking, police recovered three rifles (Topi Dhar) from the vehicle and arrested the driver on the spot.
The driver has been identified as Majid Jaral, son of Bashir Jaral, a resident of Khan Mohallah, Banihal. The driver is a jawan of 159 TA (B Company) and is posted at district Doda.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Bhaderwah police station and investigation started to ascertain the source from where the jawan got the rifles.
Police team led by Incharge police post Bhalla SI Nazir Ahmed Rishu made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Bandeshwar Singh Manhas and SSP Doda Zahid Manhas.
