Symposium on ‘Blood Donation’ held at GDC

UDHAMPUR, June 8: Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur today organized an intra-college symposium on ‘Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the efforts and save lives’.
The symposium was organised to aware the students of the need for safe blood donation.
Students of different streams participated in the symposium and shared their views.
Antriksha of B.Sc. Sem-6th was adjudged first, 2nd position was secured by Ruhani Magotra of B.Sc. Sem-6th and Abhishek Shonka of B.Sc. Sem-6th bagged 3rd position.
Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the College was chief guest and he emphasized on the importance of organizing such programmes.
Prof. Seema Kotwal, senior faculty member highlighted the specific aims and objectives of this year’s World Blood Donor Day campaign, which include thanking blood donors around the world and raising public awareness of the importance of regular, unpaid blood donation.
Prof. Romesh Kumar Atri, HoD Botany; Prof. Imitiaz Shahid, Dr. Swarn Singh, Prof. Sonia Raj and Prof. Anoksha also spoke on the occasion while the vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Sonia Raj.
