46 bovines rescued, 3 arrested

UDHAMPUR, June 8: Tikri Police rescued 46 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers.
As per official spokesman, a team from Police Post Tikri led by PSI Abdul Satar under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Udhampur Sahil Mahajan and SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar during checking noticed few persons carrying bovines.
On checking, 46 bovines were found in possession of these persons, which they were taking by foot to Kashmir without any legal permission.
All the 46 bovines were rescued and 3 smugglers namely Mohd Biniya of Akhnoor, District Jammu, Ghulam Din of RS Pura, District Jammu and Abdul Gani of Kanachak District Jammu were arrested on the spot.
Three cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Rehambal and investigation started.
The overall drive was conducted under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar.
