Social organizations celebrate Independence Day with fervour, enthusiasm

JAMMU, Aug 17: Social organizations and NGOs celebrated 76th Independence Day with fervour and enthusiasm across Jammu region yesterday.
In connection with celebration of 75th Independence Day Former Minister and president, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) Gulchain Singh Charak hoisted the National Flag at Dogra Hall here yesterday which was followed by National Anthem.
Speaking on the occasion Charak extended his greetings to the people on this auspicious day and also paid homage to freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for honour of National Flag and also highlighted the contribution of great leaders who took a frontal role in freedom movement.
International Dogra Society (IDS) in London celebrated the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by hoisting the Tiranga which was followed by National Anthem. Lalit Sharma, Founder & Director IDS, London UK said “ It is very important to celebrate our nation and its independence especially when your are abroad,. You not only teach the value of freedom to the next generation but also create awareness in the society about Indian Independence and development over last 75 years.”
In connection with celebration of Independence Day RSS Prant Sangchalak, Dr Gautam Mengi hoisted the Tricolour at Keshaw Bhavan, Ambphalla and volunteers of Sangh celebrated the Independence Day by holding function at every block and district across UT of J&K.
The Management of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla celebrated the Independence Day in the premises of Hospital yesterday. On the occasion the National Flag was hoisted by the president of the Mission, Anil Gupta in presence of MS Romesh Gupta, members of management, doctors and para -medical staff.
Amar Chand Gupta, senior vice president on the occasion explained the importance of the Day and also paid tributes to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives.
IkkJutt Jammu organised the flag hoisting ceremony at its Janipur Roop Nagar office yesterday on the occasion of Independence Day in presence of its president Ankur Sharma. He greeted the people on the occasion of Independence Day. He said the only Motto of his party is separate Statehood to Jammu as separation of Jammu from Kashmir will empower people of Jammu.
Arya Samaj Dayanand Marg City Chowk celebrated the Independence Day after performing Yagya Hawan. The National Flag was unfurled by general secretary of the Samaj, Balwan Singh along with other members of the Samaj. Arun Gupta, president of the Samaj highlighted the role of Arya Samaj in the freedom movement.
Tawi Welfare Society celebrated Independence Day at Apnavan Sure Chak with great enthusiasm. On the occasion Panch, Lata Rajput was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag. A large number of people including Panch Shakti Bhagat and Panch Yash Paul were also present on the occasion.
In connection with celebration of Independence Day yesterday an impressive function as held at Bari Brahmana Industries Association office, Bari Brahmana in presence of Tarun Singla , senior vice president , Shivali Kotwal, SDPO Bari Brahmana, Mohammed Sayeed , District Mineral officer, Samba, Ajay Langer, vice president BBIA and Rajesh Jain secretary BBIA and other members of Civil Society. On the occasion Tarun Singla senior vice president of the Association unfurled the National Flag.
The Independence Day was celebrated by Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar here yesterday with pomp and show. On the occasion the members of the Society unfurled the National Flag and distributed sweets among the gathering.
Those present on the occasion included A S Khera, chairman Balwinder Singh Rinku, president Pawan Sharma , vice president Sanjeev Talwar and others.
Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj (ABS) celebrated the 75th Independence Day with enthusiasm and gaiety. Brig (retd) Kanwal Lakhanpal hoisted the National Flag on behalf of the Samaj. He highlighted the importance of the day and urged the people to work for nation building.
The 75th Independence Day was celebrated by NGO Care For You at an impressive function held at Khokhyal in district Kathua . On the occasion district coordinator, Nisha Devi unfurled the National Flag along with other members of the organization.
Bharatiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) held a colorful cultural programme under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and presented its 339th series musical play, Sawtantar Bharat.
Manda Walkers Welfare Association (MWWA) held a function at PHE Reservoir Ground in Manda and the office bearers of the Association and its members participated in Flag hoisting ceremony.
The Independence Day was celebrated by Balgran- a Charitable Home for Destitute Children, Channi Rama near here, in which besides members of Balgran, teachers and guests were present. Prof Lalit Magotra was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag on the occasion. Children sung the National Anthem on the occasion. A colourful cultural programme was also presented.
Batwal Maha Sabha J&K celebrated the Independence Day at Batwal Jaggo Ram Memorial , Smailpur (Marh) here today in which Ramesh Chander Sargotra unfurled the National Flag in presence of large members of Batwal community.
The Independence Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm at Shub Tilak Multi Specialty Hospital Akhnoor in which Varun Jangral, SDPO Akhnoor accompanied by Hilal Azhar SHO Akhnoor hoisted the National Flag. Rakesh Malhotra , Director Shub Tilak Hospital paid glowing tributes to martyrs of freedom movement.
District Bar Association, Kathua hoisted the National Flag at its Office in premises of District Court complex Kathua under the chairmanship of its president. On the occasion Ajat Shatru Sharma unfurled the National Flag along with other office bearers of the Bar , senior Bar members, staff of CRPF and many other members of the Civil Society.
Chairman Social Justice Committee and Corporator Ward 52 Ajay Gupta hoisted the National Flag at Ward 52 in presence of a large number of people. He highlighted the significance of the day while speaking on the occasion.
Independence Day was celebrated by Jammu Mahajan Sabha under the chairmanship of its president, Romesh Chander Gupta. He was accompanied by Yash Paul Gupta, chief patron of the Sabha, Rattan Lal Gupta its patron, Shiv Pratap Gupta senior vice president and other office bearers during the hoisting of National Flag at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar road here. In his address president recalled the supreme sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
Raghunath Bazaar Businessmen Association celebrated the Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm yesterday. On the occasion, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta, Director Tourism, Vivekanand Rai and president of the Association Sanjay Gupta hoisted the National Flag at Raghunath Mandir Chowk and ITBP company presented a Guard of Honour and the National Anthem was sung by the gathering present over there. The vote of thanks was presented by general secretary Amit Goel on the occasion.
In connection with celebration of Independence Day a Shoba Yatra was taken out by Arun Chowdhary, president, Arya Pratindhi Sabha J&K, Arvind Gupta as well as executives of various organizations along with over 150 people participated in the Shoba Yatra chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai., Vande Matram etc.
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society celebrated the Independence Day at Trikuta Nagar and Narwal, Jammu. Dr Ved Kumari Ghai president of the Society was the chief guest in the functions who hoisted the National Flag and threw light on the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters.
FICCI FLO celebrated the Independence Day at their adopted park in Gandhi Nagar with children of their gardeners despite heavy downpour yesterday. They were waving the Indian Flags and reciting slogans of Vande Matram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai on the occasion.
Sat Pal Sapolia, president Traders Association, Gandhi Nagar Jammu and vice president, DCC (U) Jammu hoisted the National Flag at Gandhi Nagar. The prominent persons of locality also participated in the function on the occasion.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society celebrated the Independence Day in TNWS Complex main market Trikuta Nagar in which Rajinder Parshad Kakkar, president of the Society hoisted the National Flag. The ceremony started with chanting of Gaytri Mantra.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu celebrated the Independence Day in the premises of Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu where Nisar Ahmed Bhat, State Director, NYK J&K and Ladakh hoisted the National Flag.
The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated by the students of Ramakrishana Mission Library in a befitting way. The programme started with flag hoisting and a graceful Parade by the Infantry Wing of NCC cadets of SPMR College. Thereafter the students and dignitaries assembled in the Vivekananda Auditorium and paid their homage to the martyrs and Swami Vivekananda for their contribution in bringing independence to India. The students of the Institute of Music and Fine Arts Poonch House, Talab Tillo presented vocal and instrument music.
Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK) celebrated the Independence Day at Gandhi Memorial College, Raipur in which president of HESK, Prof B L Zutshi hoisted the National Flag and highlighted the significance of the Day and contribution of freedom fighters.
All the members of HESK participated in the function. Principal of the College, Satish Talashi briefed about the college activities.
Durga Nag Trust also celebrated the Independence Day at Anuradha Puram Barnai, community Hall where senior Trustee Kuldeep Raina, Mr Gulabi, financial advisor of the Trust and I K Raina member Advisory Committee hoisted the National Flag. The function was also attended by Prof B L Zutshi the another senior trustee.
Durga Nagar Welfare Committee also celebrated the Independence Day yesterday at Durga Nagar Sector One in which its president Roshan Lal Raina hoisted the Tricolour.
All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) held a function at Jagti township yesterday in connection with celebration of Independence Day in which its president Desh Rattan Pandita hoisted the National Flag.
Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) also celebrated the Independence Day at Sabha premises yesterday where its president K K Khosa unfurled the National Flag in presence of the other members of the Sabha. On the occasion National Anthem was sung and Khosa highlighted the significance of the day.
KP Volunteers celebrated the Independence Day and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Roop Nagar. A grand Function was organised in which Former DGP, Kuldeep Khoda was the chief guest while Prof B L Zutshi, president Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK) was the guest of honour. The function was held under the leadership of K P Volunteers president, Vikram Koul and on the occasion patriotic songs were recited by the gathering and tributes were paid to freedom fighters.
Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, in collaboration with Guiding and Counselling Cell for Youth Development, Gurha Slathian, celebrated h Independence Day at Ram Leela Ground, Gurha Slathian. On the occasion, 501 Diyas were lit up at the Gurha Slathian pond to pay homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for motherland. Various performances like dance, speech, play; all having the core sense of patriotism were held. Families of the martyrs were also honoured on the occasion. Narayan Singh Jamwal, DDC member Sudarshan Singh, Mangleshwar Singh General secretary, Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha Purani Mandi Jammu, Guiding and Counselling Cell team and residents of Gurha Slathian were present on the occasion.
The Bull Riders Motorcycle Club Jammu organized a Tiranga Rally from Jammu to Vijaypur to celebrate Independence Day. 30 riders from the club assembled at Bahu Plaza inspite of heavy rains and left for Vijaypur via Narwal, Sainik Colony, Kunjwani and Bari Brahmana.Every bike had an Indian Flag attached to it and everything was done keeping flag code of India in mind.Helmet were necessary for the ride and all traffic rules were followed properly through out the ride.
Vikramjeet Singh Manhas, founder of the club also extended Independence Day wishes to all Indians on behalf of his whole team.
