JAMMU, Dec 16: Vijay Malla Memorial Musical concert was held here this evening. The programme was organised by Radio Sharda 90.4 FM in collaboration with Peer Paschal.
Former Chief Secretary and MLC Vijay Bakaya was the chief guest on the occasion while Director Door Darshan Kendra Jammu Shabir Mujahid was guest of honour.
A galaxy of artists, singers, musicians and prominent citizens attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Bakaya said Vijay Malla was heart- throb of the people who will be remembered by music lovers always.
Terming the Radio Sharda a cultural and social asset, Bakaya highlighted its role in promoting and enriching the cultural ethos to the younger generation.
President of the Pir Panchal Ramesh Hangloo said that Radio Sharda has received overwhelming response from the KP diasporas, members of Dogra and Punjabi community and the credit for this goes to artists, poets and intellectuals who are taking active part in its programmes.
Shabir Mujahid assured all help and cooperation in promoting Radio Sharda. The artists who performed during the function included Subash Langeh, Neelam Langeh, Arvind Kumar , Darmesh Nargotra, Ravi Bhan, Rohit Kumar, Pina Kumari, Dr Usha Kher, Sidarth Kaul, Rajesh Khar and Cheng Dorje.
The stage was managed by Manoj Jad and the organisers of the function included Man Mohan Wazir, Vijay Kaul, Mukesh Kumar, K K Kaul, Adarsh Anand, J K Raina and Kusum Dhar.
