GBDYB discusses demands

JAMMU, Dec 16: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakarwal Desh Youth Body (GBDYB) criticized the State Government for not providing the basic amenities, specially to Gujjar community as well as the people of the State.
Addressing a press conference, Ch Nazakat Khatana, State president, Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakarwal Desh Youth Body stated that the Government has failed to provide the basic facilities to Gujjar community as they till date are facing erratic electric supply which further compounds the problems of those residing in the hilly snow bound areas. Same was the condition of drinking water supply, he added.
Ch Nazakat said that he visited various districts of the State and interacted with various cross sections of people and observed that supply of the ration in rural areas was not up to the mark. He asked Government to look into this matter.
He was critical to installation of the water meters, saying on the one hand there is scarcity of drinking water and then on what ground the PHE Department will be charging as per the meter, he asked.
Others present in the press conference were Ch Shafi Ahmad, Ch Ahmad, Ch Mohd Yousuf and Ch Nahid Ali besides other member of its community.
