JAMMU, Dec 16: A thirty-five-year-old woman died after she was drowned in underground water tank at her residence in Bakshi Nagar.
Police spokesman said that a woman identified as Neetu Gupta, 35, wife of Sandeep Gupta, resident of Bakshi Nagar, went missing since yesterday morning.
Police said that she was found drowned in an underground water tank at her house adding, “the family members shifted her to Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared her as brought dead”.
He added that Doctors’ Board was constituted to conduct the postmortem, which included Dr Rupali Choudhary, Dr Om Parkash and Dr Sanjay Bhasin, adding that the body was later handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and further investigations are in progress.
