Shabir visits flood, land slide hit areas

RAJOURI, Sept 22: Shabir Ahmed Khan, former Minister and MLA Rajouri, today visited hilly rural pockets of Rajouri   including Khablan, Lah,  Badhakanna area of his Constituency where huge loss of lives and property has taken place due to land sliding and flash floods.
While addressing the public meetings, he urged the concerned officers to ensure early restoration and assessment of loss of lives and properties in every nook and corner of flood ravaged area and provide relief/compensation accordingly. To mitigate the sufferings of the public, from the day when heavy incessant rains/ flash floods hit the area with a great loss of lives and property,  Kan has been continuously visiting the areas accompanied by officers of the Revenue, PHE, PDD, Irrigation and PWD to expedite the work at grass root level.
Khan while interacting with the local Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area assured them that State Government is doing all the efforts to restore the  losses as early as possible. Khan urged the Central Govt. to come up with the future plan, small or big for the flood victims of State in general and Rajouri in particular, to minimize the miseries of the common people. He reiterated that Congress party always kept their stand for up-liftment of downtrodden people and remained connected with the people. Khan said that it was  Indira Gandhi who raised the slogan of “Greebi Hatao” and  still her vision has kept the party enlightened to help those who are needy ones.
Khan said that this is a natural calamity which left millions of people in hunger, without drinking water and shelter. Khan maintained that tragedy is big so it needs extra ordinary effort from all agencies including Government, Army ,Air force, NGO’s  and Civil Society to help the victims to come out of this devastating  condition which can never be forgetten.
