Several measures taken to improve sanitation in hospitals: Bali

JAMMU, Jan 19: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today informed the Legislative Assembly that the Government is paying focused attention on sanitation and cleanliness of Government Medical College & Hospital Jammu and other health institutions of the city.
Replying to a question by Anjum Fazili, he said in this regard several measures have been taken by the Government in recent past.
In furtherance to it, the Government is procuring special dustbins to be installed in the Government Medical College, Jammu for segregation of hospital waste to ensure its scientific disposal, while it is properly handled by the Jammu Municipal Corporation, he informed.
He said sanitation in the city hospitals is being regularly carried out through sanitary workers as well as staff engaged on need basis. “In some Government hospitals the sanitation work is being outsourced through approved agencies”, he added.
Sat Sharma raised supplementary question to the main question and called for concerted measures for maintaining cleanliness in Government Medical College and other hospitals in Jammu.
