JAMMU, Dec 10: Several persons including police cops and SDH Marh were injured in stone pelting during anti encroachment drive in Marh area.
As per police sources, a team from administration led by SDH Marh and Tehsildar reached Marh and started process to evacuate encroached land.
As the team was engaged in removing the illegal structures from the encroached land, heavy stone pelting was started by the encroachers on the team, in which SDM and several cops got injured.
One cop received serious injuries and was shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
Five persons have been taken into custody and hunt is going on to arrest the other persons involved in attacking the team.
The vehicle of SHO Kanachack, JCB and some other vehicles also got damaged in the stone pelting by the encroachers.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started.
