SC’s directive in case involving SFC officers

JAMMU, Aug 9: Supreme Court has directed the Special Judge, Anticorruption Jammu to expeditiously complete trial in a loan case allegedly sanctioned on fictitious documents by the officers of the Jammu and Kashmir State Financial Corporation.
In this case, Special Judge, Anti Corruption had framed charges against Shrish Dutt (the then Divisional Manager) and four other persons but discharged S C Chopra (the then Chief Manager) of all charges.
On appeal made by the State and Shrish Dutt against the order of Special Judge, Anti Corruption, State High Court framed charges against both Shrish Dutt and S C Chopra. Aggrieved by the order of High Court, S C Chopra and Shrish Dutt filed a Special Leave to Petition before the Supreme Court.
After hearing Senior Advocate Gaurav Pachnanda, who appeared for the State, Supreme Court dismissed the SLP with the direction to Special Judge, Anti Corruption to complete the trial within a period of 6 months.
