Residents of Adarsh Vihar appeal for installation of transformer

JAMMU, Aug 9: Expressing displeasure over non-installation of 250 KVA transformer in their area, the residents of Adarsh Vihar Deeli, Jammu appealed the PDD authorities for its installation at an earliest, to not to leave them in the lurch.
In a meeting held today, the residents said that despite MLA of their constituency, Minister Raman Bhalla’s directions to Executive Engineer, EM & RE, Division-II, Gandhi Nagar, the PDD authorities have hardly paid any heed.
They said that they have approached the concerned X-En and AE of the area, who while expressing helplessness have stated that the funds are not available for the purpose.
The residents further said despite constant voltage fluctuations and very low voltage due to 100 KVA very old and faulty transformer, they have been paying their power bills regularly, despite suffering from sweltering heat and humid conditions.
The meeting appealed the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to intervene in the matter and direct the PDD authorities to replace the existing nine years old faulty transformer with a new 250 KVA transformer as the area has developed considerably with the increase in population.
