JAMMU, Feb 24: J&K New Pension Scheme (NPS) Employees United Front has demanded scrapping of NPS and implementation of old pension scheme in favour of all Government employees of J&K.
In a press conference here today Front chairman, Ashwani Sharma and president, Mohd Ashraf claimed NPS as anti-employees as it allegedly mars the rights of employees.
They said that a Government employee sacrifices the prime of his life for the service of nation and expects that pension will protect him from the financial constraints in his post retirement life.
“Pension is the only hope for the employees when they retire from Government service,” Front chairman, Ashwani Sharma said adding that the only hope of their financial security was snatched from them a decade ago when the defined benefits of pension were stopped for all the employees who joined Government service after January 1, 2010.
The Front leaders urged upon the Union Finance Ministry and LG administration to revise the decision of earlier Government and scrap the NPS.
Front general secretary, Bunty Sharma; vice president, Raman Sharma; advisor, Surinder Kaith; organiser, Neeraj Raina and others were also present in the press conference.
