Saroori meets Vohra, calls for speedy execution of projects

DODA, Aug 5: Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori presented a chartered of demands to Governor, NN Vohra at Doda and stressed for speedy completion of ongoing projects.
The Governor sought detailed feedback from the Legislator regarding the developmental issues of the district, particularly those relating to roads, health, education, power and PHE sectors.
Saroori informed Governor about the development programmes in Doda and Kishtwar districts which were languishing for want of the funds required for their completion. He also raised a number of problems relating to Inderwal constituency and called for speedy execution/ completion of project lingering on since long.
The other demands which were presented before Mr Vohra included sanctioning of Govt Degree Colleges for Malanoo, Kahara and Bunjwah which will fulfill long standing public demand from these areas, non-payment of salaries of RET teachers, non-payment of wages of thousands of MGNREGA job card holders against work done for the year 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, early completion of projects under Tourism and utilization of funds sanctioned by UPA- II for raising Tourism infrastructure by Kishtwar Development Authority, and delay being caused in the regularisation of casual workers, daily wagers and other employees.
Saroori informed the Governor that landholders of 48 MW of Lower Kalnai Hydro Electric Power Project at Dunadi are still await for release of compensation in their favour. The companies which were engaged in Kalnai and Rattle Power Project Drabshalla have left the projects halfway which has created lots of inconveniences. He urged for early start of both the vital power projects which will benefit the region in every way.
MLA urged the Governor for early start of RGGVY Phase II/ DDUGJY and Subhagya schemes which would provide electricity to every un-electrified village, early start of construction of receiving stations at Kahara and Bunjwah which stands already sanctioned. He also demanded early release of funds for clearance of compensation of roads under NABARD, CRF and other district & state sector schemes which have been adversely affected due to non-availability of funds for disbursement of compensation. The Governor assured Saroori to examine the projects and ensure early reddressal of other issues.
