JAMMU, Nov 26: Sant Prakash Ram Trust, Kurigam, Qazigund was reconstituted at a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of P N Raina.
As per a release, Rattan LaL Tickoo was nominated chairman of the Trust while Poshkar Nath Raina and Roshan Lal Dhar were nominated as trustee and secretary respectively.
Vijay Raina and Daleep Dhar were nominated as general secretary and cashier respectively. Besides Avtar Krishan Dhar, Sanjay Dhar, Inder Krishan Tickoo, S L Tickoo, Yougesh Dhar, Bansi Lal Dhar and Bal Krishan Tickoo were nominated as members.
The speakers highlighted the contribution of Sant Prakash Ram towards the Kashmiri culture and literature especially in translating Ramayana in Kashmiri verse. This was his greatest contribution to the Hindu community as a whole, they added. They said a great devotee of Lord Rama he penned down Ramayana in two books one was named as Ram Avtaar Charyit and another Lav Kush Charyit.
