Rural tourism can address employment problem in Gulmarg: Farooq Shah

SRINAGAR, Mar 27: Stating that unemployment has been the major problem in Tangmarg constituency, National Conference leader Farooq Ahamd Shah today said that he would explore the possibilities of “rural tourism” which has a huge potential of not only creating the employment for the local youth but also to boost the local economy.
Shah, during his visit to Wanigam, Darakashi, Ganwaen, Gani Baba, Chandil, Darhama Tumbarhama etc, said that the people in these area face immense problems of schools, roads, electricity and other basic requirements which is hampering the development of the area. According to Shah, the non -availability of basic amenities was a major hindrance in the development of the Gulmarg constituency.
The former bureaucrat said his first priority would be to address these problems besides working for the job opportunities of the local boys and girls. He urged the youth to concentrate on studies and said only education would enable them to realise their dreams of achieving prosperity.
Maintaining that Tangmarg area has immense potential of “rural tourism”, Farooq Shah said that his priority would be to introduce and explore Rural Tourism in the constituency, which would create job opportunities for local youth besides boosting the local economy.
