JAMMU, Apr 24: The meeting of the Executive Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu was conducted today to review its functioning and discuss future plans.
Pt Kewal K Sharma (president, JKCCA), DP Abrol (vice-president), Radhey Shyam and Bimal Magotra (advisors), Sahil Bhardwaj (general secretary) and OP Sharma (director), Jaswant Singh, Atish Bhardwaj, Nitish Bhardwaj, Ravi Kumar (members), Jang S Verman (publicity secretary) attended the meeting.
A brief report of the activities conducted by the JKCCA was presented in the meeting. Proposals for the upcoming financial year were also discussed.
The major events, programmes and activities approved to be executed during the coming session include National Camp Mansar, felicitation of Ved Rahi (a veteran and senior most artist of the country) by Pt Kewal K Sharma, All India Painters Camp at Akhnoor from June 3-5, All India Art Exhibition on August 11, 2017 in the loving memory of late Gobind Kaur (first contemporary Sculptor of the State), National Painters Camp at Patnitop in September, International Art Exhibition at Dhaka in December and International Art Exhibition at Jammu in February 2018.
In addition to that, children art competitions, book release functions, talent hunt programmes as well as performing art events would also be conducted during this period.
Pt Kewal K Sharma advised to add art exhibition exclusively for the young and upcoming artists in near future. The same was also approved.
