Retired cops demand pay anomaly removal

JAMMU, Nov 5: Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum here today staged a protest demonstration demanding removal of pay anomaly.
The protest was led by Ajit Singh, Chairman of the Forum.
Talking to reporters the Forum Chairman said, during the implementation of fifth pay commission in the year 1996 no benefit was given to the police department.
He further said that different Committees were formed for this purpose from time to time but nothing fruitful emerged.
Singh also said that at last Finance Department sought clarification from the DGP who in his reply wrote that Rs. 5,93,25,000 should be released in favour of retired ASIs and HCs to remove their pay anomalies.
He further said that they also met Advisors of the Governor in this regard but still they await anything positive in this direction.
