JAMMU, July 12 : Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Migrant Cell today demanded immediate redressal of migrants problems.
Highlighting their demands at a press conference here, the general secretary, Migrant Cell, Rakesh Kumar Pardesi and organising secretary, Sunil Kumar Bhat demanded that the problems of Kashmiri migrants piling up for years together be settled.
Extending full support to the party president, Ms Mehbooba Mufti the Cell leaders assured full support in her decisions taken in the interest of the people of the State and party as well.
They also stressed on early redressal of genuine issues with mitigation of the sufferings of Kashmiri Pandits leading an exiled life at Jammu and other parts of the country.
“ We seek intervention of present dispensation under Governor to expedite the process of employment for unemployed youth of K Ps under PM’s employment Package and engagement of KP youth in different departments under Class-IV category under the package’’.
They said Pandits are suffering a lot due to lack of portable water supply at Jagti town ship and it needs immediate and appropriate arrangement to mitigate this grave issue.
They demanded that the major complaints of KPs pertaining to corrupt practices flourishing in some Relief and Rehabilitation Zonal Offices needs to be monitored and corrected so that genuine and deserving people may not face any inconvenience.
The residential quarters of Jagti township, Bota Nagar, Purkhoo and Nagrota camps are in dilapidated condition, which need immediate renovation, they added.
The post of DC Relief and Rehabilitation has been kept vacant since last three months and same should be filled up immediately.
The issue regarding Medical Insurance for migrants is lying with the Finance Department since last one year needs special attention and resolution.
The employees engaged under PM’s package in the Valley are suffering badly due to lack of sufficient accommodation and the problem be solved.
The Hospital situated at Jagti having sufficient staff should be made functional on 24×7 basis with provision of appropriate medicines to cater to needs of the people there.
Other migrant leaders present on this occasion include, S K Raina, Veer Ji Raina, P N Zutshi, Bansi Lal Koul, Chand Ji, R K Koul ( Anu Ji) Chaman Lal Dhar, Rajinder Koul, Ashok Koul etc.
