NOWSHERA, May 5: Chief spokesperson of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Ravinder Sharma met the agitating PHE workers at Nowshera who are protesting for the last about two months, seeking release of their wages and framing of regularization policy.
Mr Sharma extended full support to the cause of agitating workers and said that Government must not adopt the indifferent attitude towards the cause of labour class in the State and take immediate measure to resolve their issues with regard to release of their wages and the policy for the regularization.
He said that prolonged agitation has badly affected the Water Supply especially in the rural areas of the State, as the Govt has not taken any alternative measure to provide water in rural areas.
President PHE Workers Union Chain Singh and Working president of DCC Somraj also addressed the Dharna.
Earlier Mr Sharma chaired a condolence meeting of BCC Nowshera to offer condolences to the Late Dr Romesh Sharma who expired very recently. The meeting while praying for eternal peace to departed soul expressed sympathy with the bereaved family. Prominent leaders and office bearers of DCC also attended the meet.
