Srinagar, May 5: At least sixty-five crew members of upcoming movie ‘Sargoshiya’ including legendary actress, Farida Jalal, and veteran actor, Alok Nath today amazed the residents of Badekot village of Tangmarg in north Kashmir when they suddenly showed up in their village for shooting for their film without any security cover.
From last 22 days, the film crew has been travelling all over the Valley to explore more virgin and unseen places like Dodhpathri, completing nearly 60 percent of the movie. Saira Khan, the leading actress in the movie, had all praises for Kashmir and warmth of locals.
“People are exaggerating the political uncertainty of Kashmir. I did not feel a fraction of uncertainty. People are so beautiful and they are blessed with looks and the physique. All they need is a little bit of hard work as millions of people throng Mumbai every day,” she told Excelsior.
When asked what message she would convey back home, Saira said: “It is unfortunate on part of those who have not seen Kashmir and explored its beauty. I have shot in London and Switzerland but honestly speaking there is nothing like Kashmir. Everything is safe and there is nothing to worry about. People are so friendly here. What else do you need?” she said.
Legendary actress, Farida Jalal, while recalling the time when she used to come to Kashmir thirty years ago said there is no match for Kashmir in the entire world but felt that time has taken a toll on the beauty of Kashmir as one sees concrete palaces everywhere instead of pastures and tree lines.
“We used to fill our lungs with the fresh air as soon as we hit the Srinagar airport. It saddens me when I see an unregulated human intervention in this paradise,” Jalaal said.
When asked about her message to people, the actress said: “I think government should look towards Kashmiri Youth. They are not providing them their rights and that helping hand is not coming from anywhere. Someone needs to reach out to them”.
