POONCH, July 19: The people from Lower Ari in Mendhar Sub Division held protest and blocked Mendhar-Surankote road for about two hours.
The people including women of the area came out on the road at round 8.30 am and started protest demonstration. They were demanding restoration of water supply. The villagers alleged that local pumping station went out of order about two weeks back and many PHE pipes were also leaking. The concerned authorities have failed to get the pipes repaired and water supply restored.
Later, with the intervention of Police and Naib Tehildar Mendhar, the people lifted dharna and allowed movement of vehicles.
